The Lifeline for Our Bulldogs: AKC Reunite Microchips

As the proud owners of Crooked Star Bulldogges, Christina and I can’t emphasize enough how vital it is to have a reliable and effective microchip program for our beloved puppies. Our commitment to the well-being and safety of our puppies led us to choose AKC Reunite system as our trusted microchip provider.  IT WORKS!!

Why Share This Information Now?

Over the past several weeks, we experienced not one but two separate occasions where the AKC Reunite group stepped in as the ultimate guardian angel for one of our precious dogs. In both instances,  the owners of our puppies could either be not located OR the owner did not register the chip in their name and I was notified. Why did we choose AKC Reunite?

Why Microchipping Matters:

Microchipping is a simple yet powerful method to ensure our beloved bulldogs can always find their way back home if they ever get lost or separated from us. At Crooked Star Bulldogges, we take this responsibility very seriously and believe it is our duty to safeguard the well-being of each and every one of our puppies. That’s why we go the extra mile and microchip all our pups with an AKC Reunite Microchip before they leave for their forever homes.

The AKC Reunite Microchip Advantage:

The American Kennel Club (AKC) is a trusted organization with a long-standing reputation in the dog breeding community. Their microchips are a reliable choice for ensuring our dogs’ safety. By registering each microchip with AKC Reunite, we create a direct link between the bulldog and their owner, making it easier to reunite them if they ever become lost.

Importance of AKC Reunite Registration:

Just having a microchip is not enough; registering it with AKC Reunite is vital for the system to function effectively. When the microchip is registered, the owner’s contact information is linked to the unique identification code on the chip. This ensures that shelters, veterinarians, and other relevant organizations can quickly access the owner’s details and get in touch when the dog is found. Without registration, the microchip becomes practically useless in reuniting the pup with their rightful family.  With that said, because Crooked Star Bulldogges purchase the microchips, our information will always be tied to the chip, in essence making Christina and I the “backup to the backup.”

A Compelling Real-Life Example:

Let me share a heartwarming story about how AKC Reunite made a difference in reuniting a bulldog with its owner:

In May 2023, one of our dogs that we rehomed to a family in Indiana, an Olde English Bulldog named Bentley, went missing from his yard. Bentley’s worried family reported him missing to AKC Reunite, who promptly activated their lost pet recovery network.   Fortunately, a Good Samaritan found Bentley wandering on the streets and took him to a nearby animal shelter.

In our second example, again in May 2023, two of our dogs went missing from a family in central Texas.   In this instance, I received a call from AKC Reunite advising me of the two dogs.  Unfortuately, the owner had not registered their information within the Reunite system. Good News – because the chips were purchased by Crooked Star Bulldogges, our information was in AKC Reunite.  I was able to locate the owner and pass on the whereabout information. So we again, had a happy ending.

IT WORKS!!!!
