ABOUT CROOKED STAR BULLDOGGES

Built With Experience.
Driven By Purpose.

Crooked Star Bulldogges is built on two decades of hands-on animal husbandry and breeding experience and more than a decade devoted specifically to raising Olde English Bulldogges and French Bulldogs.

OUR STORY

Long Before The Bulldogs

Crooked Star did not begin with dogs. Our roots go back to 2006, when we operated as Crooked Star Ranch and began raising and exhibiting championship cattle. Over the years, our cattle earned championship banners at major shows across the country, including Houston, Dallas, Louisiana, Colorado, Arizona, Florida and California, along with numerous county and local shows.

Those years taught us much more than how to raise good livestock. They taught us what it means to build a real breeding program—how genetics, structure, temperament, health, selection and consistency work together over generations. We learned to evaluate animals critically, make breeding decisions with a purpose and understand that the quality of the next generation depends on the decisions you make today.

Just as importantly, showing cattle taught us why breed standards matter. A breed standard is more than a description of what an animal should look like. It provides a blueprint for the structure, function and characteristics that define a breed. That principle became deeply ingrained in the way we approach breeding and remains part of every decision we make at Crooked Star.

In 2015, Crooked Star took an unexpected turn. Ironically, our first dog came to us in a trade for a cow. That trade opened the door to what would become Crooked Star Bulldogges, and we brought the same breeding principles we had learned through years of livestock production into our Olde English Bulldogge and French Bulldog programs.

The animals may have changed, but our approach has not. Today, Crooked Star Bulldogges has grown into a substantial breeding and care operation, but the same principles still guide us: intentional breeding, respect for breed standards, honest evaluation, proper care and accountability for the animals we produce.

Our breeding experience began with championship cattle, years of hands-on animal husbandry, careful selection and competition in major livestock shows across the country.

Our dog program began—fittingly, with our first dog coming to us in a trade for a cow. We brought the same intentional breeding principles into our Olde English Bulldogge and French Bulldog programs.

TODAY

What Crooked Star Has Become

Today, Crooked Star Bulldogges has grown into a full breeding and care operation with more than 30 dogs, four dedicated buildings and a team of caregivers and veterinary professionals supporting the health and care of our dogs and puppies.

OUR BREEDING PHILOSOPHY

“Form Follows Function.”

That simple idea has guided our breeding program for years. We believe breeding should be intentional. Every decision should have a reason behind it, with attention given to structure, temperament, health and the characteristics that make each breed what it is.

WHAT DEFINES CROOKED STAR

Intentional. Transparent. Personal.

Those are more than marketing words to us. They describe how we believe a breeding program should operate and how we believe people should be treated when they trust us with something as important as their next dog.

01

Intentional Breeding

We do not believe in breeding simply to produce puppies. Every pairing should have a purpose. We consider structure, temperament, health, genetics and the breed standard when making breeding decisions, with the goal of producing dogs that represent the qualities we value in each breed.

02

A Transparent Process

Buying a puppy requires trust, especially in a world where online scams and questionable breeding practices are common. We want our families to know who they are dealing with, understand our process and have access to the information they need to make a confident decision.

03

A Personal Relationship

We still believe in one-on-one communication. We want to understand what a family is looking for, answer their questions and help them determine whether one of our puppies is the right fit. This has never been a click-and-checkout business to us.

THE CROOKED STAR PROMISE

Support That Goes Beyond The Puppy.

Chris and I have always described our approach as full-circle support—being available before, during and after one of our puppies goes home.

Before a puppy leaves Crooked Star, we want the new owner to understand the puppy, the process and what to expect when they get home. We encourage questions and believe there should be no mystery surrounding who raised the puppy or how it was cared for.

Our puppies go home veterinarian-checked, current on age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming, microchipped, and with registration where applicable. They also leave with our written health warranty, starter information and the other items included in our puppy package.

But our responsibility does not end at pickup or delivery. New owners have questions. Puppies grow. Situations change. Whether the question comes during the first night at home or years later, our families know they can still reach out to Crooked Star.

That continuing relationship is one of the reasons we built our Resource Center and expanded Crooked Star beyond simply breeding puppies. We want our experience to remain useful long after the sale is complete.

MORE THAN A BREEDING PROGRAM

Not Everything Is Created Equal.

From championship cattle to Olde English Bulldogges and French Bulldogs, Crooked Star has always been built around the same idea: good breeding requires experience, purpose and accountability.

We know there are many places to buy a puppy. Our goal has never been to simply be another one of them. We want Crooked Star Bulldogges to be a place where responsible breeding, proper care, honest communication and continuing support come together.

The facilities have grown, the team has grown and the number of families who have become part of Crooked Star has grown. What has not changed is our commitment to the dogs we produce and the people who trust us to raise them.
